Ortecha, the data, AI and technology consultancy built by practitioners, has strengthened its UK leadership team with the appointment of two new Partners: Angie Livingstone and Charles Ivie. Their arrival adds deep expertise across data, AI and engineering, and marks another step in what has already been a standout period of growth.
This follows two major announcements last month: Ortecha’s merger with Broadgate Consultants, expanding its end-to-end delivery capability, and Stephen Gatchell’s appointment as Partner and Head of AI Strategy in North America. Together, these moves signal Ortecha’s continued growth as a consultancy focused on solving real data, AI and technology problems with people who’ve done it before.
Angie Livingstone Joins as Partner & Head of Analytics
Angie Livingstone brings more than 25 years of hands-on experience across data science, analytics and AI. She has led award-winning data teams, built industry-defining data products and served as one of the earliest Chief Data Officers at Eurostar. Angie has held senior leadership roles across FTSE and global organisations including Tesco, BT, Cardlytics and Omnicom.
She’s also a recognised industry voice: a regular speaker, judge and roundtable chair, and a Top 20 Women in Data & Technology award winner. Angie is well-known for championing women in data and technology – from grassroots initiatives in schools to coaching C-suite executives.
With a background in psychology, specialising in cognitive and computing sciences, Angie brings a distinctly human-first approach to solving complex data and AI challenges, which perfectly aligns with Ortecha’s ‘human-first’ ethos.
“What stood out to us about Angie is how much she’s actually delivered. She’s built teams, shipped data products and solved problems that most organisations are still wrestling with. She cuts through the layers and focuses on what will genuinely make a difference. That mindset is exactly what we value at Ortecha,” said Pete Youngs, Managing Partner & Founder, Ortecha.
Charles Ivie Joins as Partner & Head of Data & AI Engineering
Charles Ivie joins Ortecha as a globally recognised engineering and knowledge graph expert, known for shaping the future of semantic technologies at Amazon Web Services. As Senior Graph Architect within the Amazon Neptune team, he helped drive enterprise-scale graph adoption across industries including media, finance and technology.
His career highlights include engineering the knowledge-graph platform behind BBC’s London 2012 Olympics and delivering scalable graph-based solutions for large enterprises. Charles is a leading voice in graph database engineering, ontology design and semantic-driven AI, having contributed to influential publications and the product vision for Amazon Neptune including innovations in agentic AI and MCP.
Charles will lead Ortecha’s data and AI engineering strategy, ensuring clients can build modern, scalable platforms ready for real-world AI.
“We could not be more excited to welcome Charles to Ortecha to lead Data & AI Engineering. Charles blends deep expertise in data, AI and semantics with a visionary, yet deeply practical approach. He simplifies complex ideas to deliver powerful, scalable, and easily adopted solutions for clients, helping them get ready for an AI-powered future,” said Ben Clinch, Chief Data Officer & Partner at Ortecha.
Built to deliver
These appointments reinforce Ortecha’s commitment to helping organisations turn data, AI and technology transformation from hype into real business impact, led by a senior team who have delivered at scale inside organisations like those we advise.
With expanded capability across engineering, AI strategy and data leadership, Ortecha is excited to continue supporting clients through the growing demand for AI-ready data foundations and exploring the realm of the possible.
