CASE STUDY

Data Policy at a Global Investment Bank

The Challenge

A Global Investment Bank decided to refresh their Data Management Policy but didn’t have a clear view of their target state Data Management capability.

They also lacked confidence that successfully executing their Data Management Operating Model would result in Policy compliance by the business units and data domains.

What we did

Completed a Data Policy review using the EDM Council’s DCAM framework

Used Solidatus to create a visual relationship between DCAM capabilities and the refreshed Policy

Ticked back the Data Policy to the Ortecha Policy Checklist

Aligned the bank’s Operating Model to the Data Policy and DCAM

The Benefits

Clear alignment between the bank’s Data Management capability, the Policy and the Operating Model

Proof that achieving execution of the Operating Model would also achieve compliance with the Policy

Defined roadmap to target-state Data Management capabilities and Policy adoption

The people we have from Ortecha have been superb. A great mix of theory and practical.
